Formed in the subway systems of Oakland, The California Honeydrops are a retro-soul group known for electrifying live shows and complete spontaneity — no set lists, ever.
Fronted by Lech Wierzynski (vocals/guitar/trumpet) and Benjamin Malament (drums), joined by Johnny Bones (sax), Lorenzo Loera (keys/guitar), Beaumont Beaullieu (drums), and Miles Blackwell (bass), with frequent guests including Oliver Tuttle, Leon Cotter, and Miles Lyons.
Their new album Redwood Highway was released August 8, 2025, and their music has been featured in Dead to Me, Black-ish, and Alaska Daily.
