with Greg Douglass, Richie Varrasso
Greg Douglass

Legendary guitar player for the stars, Greg Douglass, will be returning to San Diego a limited appearance . Teaming up with his colleague from Beserkley Records, Richie Varrasso, they will be complimenting songs from their past experiences within the Sound of San Francisco. Along with playing favorites from Greg Kihn, Eddie Money, Steve Miller, and Ronnie Montrose, Greg will be treating the audience with his new original songs from his album. With the banter of road stories between them, the thrill will be the connection between the songs and the times while away performing.
Richie Varrasso

From Berkeley, California, the Famous Hits Band was formed in the ’80s by Richie Varrasso and his associated bandmates as a way to play clubs without using the headliner’s name. The alumni of professional musicians tells a story in itself.
The hit songs played by these cats reflect the sounds of San Francisco Bay Area music at its finest. His band brought out the culture and flavor of the artists from the City of Love.
Richie is now located in Southern California and brings the spirit of his music with him, playing hit songs highlighted from Greg Kihn, Eddie Money, Montrose, The Tubes, Gregg Allman, Tom Petty, and many other artists on the list of top music nobility.
The Sounds of San Francisco come alive while an action-packed set of known hits with B-sides and stories from the road’s big festivals is captured on a small stage with community neighborhood folk. The stories alone are worth the time and effort because now the audience becomes family and part of the cultural exchange.
This personable contact proves to be a great celebration as this acoustic show is not background music!
